We may collect geolocation data from you but this will be with your explicit consent and in relation to a specific activity.
How We Will Use Your Information
The information we collect will be used for the purpose of brokering a mortgage or any other product/service you have explicitly consented to.
The information we collect will also be used to report your rental payment performance data to the rental exchange currently operated by Experian.
The information we collect will also be used to help us provide you insights on getting on the property ladder.
For example, we will:
operate, manage and complete any account you hold with us and any credit, insurance or mortgage applications you consent to us making;
(if you take out a mortgage, insurance or any credit facility through us) compare your mortgage or credit product from time to time with others in the market that may be suitable for you and contact you with suggestions if we think it appropriate;
carry out market research, business and statistical analysis including the formation of a view on you as an individual in order to service you and others better;
test our systems and develop our products (or any other similar purpose);
comply with any regulatory obligation we must comply with; and
contact you, by any medium you have agreed to or provided us with details of, in relation to our goods and services if you have indicated that you are happy to receive marketing from us.
From time to time we would also like to contact you with details of other services we may provide and with relevant news and comment that may be of interest to you as a tenant, prospective homebuyer, mortgage applicant or owner. This could be, by way of example, an email newsletter or other similar communication. You retain the right to opt out at any point should you wish to in the future, and the communications will include instructions on how to do so quickly and easily.
Rent Reporting By Rentroster
If you have signed up for “Rentroster by Huuti” You consent to the sharing of your rental payment information with Experian Ltd. By this consent, not only will We be able to work with you more closely to manage your existing tenancy agreement, your track record as a tenant will enable Experian to use the information supplied to them in the future to assist other landlords and organisations to:
assess and manage any new tenancy agreements You may enter into;
assess your financial standing to provide You with suitable products and services;
manage any accounts that you may already hold, for example reviewing suitable products or adjusting your current product in light of your current circumstances;
contact You in relation to any accounts you may have and recovering debts that you may owe;
verify your identity and address to help them make decisions about services they offer; and
help prevent crime, fraud and money laundering.
We, and Experian, will ensure that your information is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act so You can have peace of mind that it will be kept secure and confidential and your information will not be used for marketing purposes.
We will hold your personal data on our systems as follows:
all data pertaining to a mortgage, insurance or credit application will be kept on our systems for 6 years in line with our regulatory requirements.
We may share your information with the following entities:
any group company;
any regulatory or governmental body or ombudsmen who has jurisdiction;
any credit bureaux (or similar organisation) (for identification verification purposes only – we do not conduct a credit search and no search footprint is left on your credit file);- We will always notify you prior.
a lender to which you have consented for us to make a credit or mortgage application on your behalf;- we will always notify you prior.
suppliers who process your data on our behalf.we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access including: by encrypting any Personal Information which we transfer to our suppliers and We will have written contracts in place with such entities which require them to process your data only in accordance with our instructions; and
any person or legal entity to whom we sell or transfer (or initiate discussions with to sell or transfer) our business or any part of it or any of our rights or obligations under any agreement we may have with you. If the transfer goes ahead, you agree that the purchaser can use your data in the same way as us.
We will not transfer your data to destinations outside the EEA.
Subject Access Request
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have a right to access certain personal records we hold about you. This is called a Data Subject Access Request, which you can make by writing to email@example.com. No fee is payable.

Credit decisions and also the prevention of fraud and money laundering
The Lender may use credit reference and fraud prevention agencies to help them make decisions. If you apply for a mortgage product through Huuti, we will provide the information we hold about you to the Lender. The Lender will use this information to help make its decision about whether or not to lend to you. This will involve checking the following records about you and others:
those at credit reference agencies (CRAs); and
those at fraud prevention agencies (FPAs).
When CRAs receive a search from the Lender they will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other Lenders. They supply to Lenders both public (including the electoral register) and shared credit and fraud prevention information. Having multiple search footprints on your credit file may affect your ability to borrow in the future.
The Lender will make checks such as assessing your application for credit and verifying identities to prevent and detect crime and money laundering. The Lender may also make periodic searches at CRAs and FPAs to manage your account with them. If you are making a joint application or tell us or the Lender that you have a spouse or financial associate, the Lender will link your records together, so you must be sure that you have your partner’s agreement to disclose information about them. CRAs also link your records together and these links will remain on your and their files until such time as you or your partner successfully files for a disassociation with the CRAs to break that link. Information on applications will be sent to CRAs and will be recorded by them. Where you borrow from the Lender, the Lender will give details of your accounts and how you manage it/them to CRAs. If you borrow and do not repay in full and on time, CRAs will record the outstanding debt. This information may be supplied to other organisations by CRAs and FPAs to perform similar checks and to trace your whereabouts and recover debts that you owe. Records remain on file for 6 years after they are closed, whether settled by you or defaulted.
If you give false or inaccurate information and the Lender suspects or identifies fraud, the Lender will record this and may also pass this information to fraud prevention agencies and other organisations involved in crime and fraud prevention.
If you have borrowed from the Lender and do not make payments that you owe them, the Lender will trace your whereabouts and recover debts.
The Lender and other organisations may access and use from other countries the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies.
Your data may also be used for other purposes for which you give your specific permission or, in very limited circumstances, when required by law or where permitted under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 and any future acts which come into place.
