How does the co ownership calculator work

This calculator will give you an indication of the repayments and mortgage deposit you will need for a Shared Ownership or Co ownership home.

You will need to input the percentage of share you which to own and accordingly the mortgage amount will be calculated.


We have assumed 10% of the share of purchase amount as the minimum mortgage deposit.


The Monthly rental payment is assumed as 2.75% of retained equity which you do not own.


The hare of purchase is the share of purchase per cent times the property value.


The mortgage amount is the amount you need to borrow from a mortgage lender.


The total monthly cost is the total of the mortgage repayment and rental payment.
